We cross by pletna boat, climb the 99 steps and marry in the little church on the island.
Boats leave Mlino at 12:15 sharp; the crossing takes about 20 minutes. Luka will carry Maja up all 99 steps, and every guest may ring the wishing bell.
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) is about 35 minutes from Bled by car. We will share shared-transfer times.

Venice, Zagreb, Salzburg and Klagenfurt airports are all within a few hours' drive.

Vila Bled or Grand Hotel Toplice on the lake; Bled has many smaller guesthouses too.
Getting around
Bled is walkable. The lakeside path is 6 km all the way round.

If you would like to give something, we are planning a slow summer of lakes.
For our honeymoon we'll take the little ferries around the lakes of northern Italy: Orta, Maggiore and Garda, one island at a time. A contribution to a boat, a villa lunch or a night by the water would be a lovely gift.
Please don't feel you need to. Being there is what matters.

Does everyone go to the island?
Yes, every guest has a seat on a pletna. Tell us if you'd rather watch from the shore.
What if it rains?
The boats have canopies and the church is covered; the reception moves inside Vila Bled.
When should we arrive in Bled?
Friday afternoon, in time for welcome drinks.
Can we swim in the lake?
Yes, the water is warm in late August. Bring a swimsuit for Sunday afternoon.
Is it accessible?
The church steps are demanding. Let us know and we'll plan the easiest way for you, or a front-row seat on the shore.
